Energy Zero Carbon by 2050

“Challenges & Changes

The Government has set out their intention to decarbonise the whole of the UK by 2050 with a 30% reduction by 2030. These targets are all embracing and will affect  every one.

The Manufacturing and Electricity Supply Industries have already accepted the need  to change radically and are taking steps to effect this. Other areas like electricity distribution and transport will also be affected and these in turn will affect all of us.

The Society of Glass Technology is devoting the Industrial Section of their Conference in Cambridge this year to these issues.

Speakers and discussion sessions will cover topics such as:

  • The Glass Futures Project – the progress to date on this exciting project.
  • Hydrogen use and distribution
  • Solar Power.
  • Wind Power.
  • Electric Vehicles.
  • Electricity Distribution.
  • Grid Scale Electrical Storage.
  • Nuclear Power.
  • Raw Materials.

We will all be affected and this is an opportunity to discuss with colleagues in other fields and industries how we can, jointly, achieve the goals which have been set down.

Come to Cambridge and have your say!
