Gender Policy for the International Conference on the Physics of Non-Crystalline Solids

The policy of the International Conference on the Physics of Non-Crystalline Solids is to strive to achieve a gender balance in all activities that reflects the gender balance of the audience of the conference.

The invited speakers for PNCS16 have been selected according to this policy: 3 females and 8 males. (The chair of the previous conference will also give an honorary invited talk.)

A question about gender will form part of the registration process, so that the gender balance of the audience of the conference is known in the future, and the information will be made available on the conference website when available

Recommendations for invited speakers at PNCS16 were made by the International Advisory Board (1 female and 24 males) and the Local Scientific Committee (8 females and 13 males).

This policy has been informed by the paper Ten Simple Rules to Achieve Conference Speaker Gender Balance by JL Martin.
