The Society of Glass Technology exists to serve those people who are interested in any aspect of glass through dissemination of information. Membership is open to individuals, companies, associations or institutions.

  • Individual Members -  (£128.00-£189.50) are part of a comprehensive international network of specialists in their particular field of glass. Members also have access to the wider range of specialisms encompassed by the SGT. This wide network operates through personal contact, meetings, workshops and publications.
  • Students - (£33.00 - £43.50) are introduced to this network and to one another through specialist seminars. Recognition is given to individual achievement.
  • Corporate Members - (£302.00 -£582.00)  The technical and personal objectives of the Society bring direct benefits to industry and institutions associated with glassmaking. These organisations are encouraged to make a positive contribution to furthering the aims of the Society. A corporate member nominates two representatives of its company to benefit from the privileges enjoyed by a Personal Member.  Any member offering consultancy services to the glass industry can obtain a free listing in the February issue of Glass Technology as well as on this web site.

  • Fellowship of the Society is awarded to members who have reached prescribed levels of attainment in the business of glass and associated industries and for recognised contributions to the science and technology of glass. Fellows are entitled to use the designatory letters ‘FSGT’. In the United Kingdom the Society supports the personal development of members to the status of Chartered Engineer. Fellows are individual members who have met prescribed requirements of education, achievement or service to the Industry and the Society. They may use the designatory letters "FSGT".
