A survey of commercial soda–lime–silica glass compositions: Trends and opportunities II.
Principal component analysis (PCA) of glass compositions
Dr Wei Deng and colleagues at Sheffield Hallam University have investigated the evolution of commercial glass
compositions, which builds upon the review of commercial glass
compositions conducted by Smrček in 1990. Using PCA (Principal Component
Analysis) statistical methods, the current trends and evolution of
commercial glass compositions have been updated. It
provides a deeper understanding and insight into how glass compositions
have developed, why they have evolved in this way, and what the future
trends might be.
