|
The Refractories Committee of the Society consists of a very experienced group of people representing both glass and refractory manufacturers. In 1988 they began to publish a series of papers outlining the principle refractories and their uses, intended for the nonspecialist, but bringing together all the accumulated knowledge of the last 50 years. This is of course a vast subject and especially useful as there are no all embracing text books on the subject of glass furnace refractories to which one can turn. All the papers have been reviewed by the Committee so that whilst the authors are experts in their fields their papers have also had the advantage of critical appraisal by a very experienced expert panel. An updated versions is now available from 2010
