After the Annual Meeting held in Sheffield in April 1918 several members suggested that an open discussion on the "Glass Industry after the War" would be of serious interest to us all. Dr Turner and SGT President Mr Wood at once agreed that by far the best time and place to have such an important matter discussed was at the London meeting of the Society, when it would be much easier for the representatives of various Government Departments to spare a few hours of their time to come and hear the discussion.
