Symposium on moulds in the glass industry

A symposium on moulds in the glass industry was held on 29 and 30 November and 1 December 1960 in the
Metnorial Hall of the Sheffield City Hall. The symposium was arranged by the Engineering Committee of the
Society and preprints of all the contributions were made available before the meeting, which was extremely
well attended. Mr. D. A. Hughes, of Boots Pure Drug Co. Ltd., opened the symposium by drawing attention to the increasing demands which are made by modern packaging techniques on glass containers and thus on container moulds. The programme was then divided into five half-day sessions.
