A review of recent work on the working temperatures of glassware moulds in various countries
GT V02 1961 107- 110
The review covers work done in Germany and the U.S.A. on the determination of temperatures in different parts of cast-iron moulds during the blowing and pressing of glass articles. The review also covers work done in Germany on the nature and effects of surface scale on the inner surfaces of moulds. The reviewer adds comments based upon these measurements, which draw attention to aspects of interest to metallurgists and also to those of interest in glassworks production.
