Glass for a Sustainable Future

Glass for a Sustainable Future is the 2025 Darshana and Arun Varshneya Frontiers in Glass Technology lecture by Dr John C. Mauro FSGT, Penn State University. This lecture provides a summary of Dr Mauro's journey in glass science and technology, an overview of his Glass Research group at Penn State, and the latest developments on LionGlass, Penn State's novel glass compositional family to reduce the carbon footprint of industrial glass manufacturing.

The lecture features a LionGlass vessel made in Murano, Venice as part of the Bormioli Luigi exploration into commercialisation of this new glass composition.

The Darshana and Arun Varshneya Frontiers in Glass Science and Technology winners are selected each year by the American Ceramic Society.
