NSG Group has finished its newest 2.0 MWp photovoltaic
solar array at its Ottawa facility, in Illinois USA. This will supply about
3.9 GWh of renewable electricity annually.
The build is powered by over 5000 advanced thin film Series 7 solar
modules manufactured by First Solar using NSG Group’s solar energy glass
products.
NSG Group has several solar energy projects around the world. In
North America, in addition to this newest solar array in Ottawa, there
is a 0.25 MW solar array in Northwood, Ohio commissioned in February
2011 and a 1.4 MW solar array in Rossford, Ohio commissioned in April
2022.
In 2022, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) certified NSG
Group's aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030, compared
to 2018 levels. This forms the basis of the business' plan to achieve
carbon neutrality by 2050. This project is a part of NSG Group’s solar
and energy savings projects.
